Greenback School Yearbook

The 2009/10 Greenback School Yearbook contained the following memorial to Renee. Eight of her nine children are or have been students at Greenback. We are most grateful to Peggy Cagler and the staff at Greenback who chose to remember Renee.

The saddest anniversary of all.

Well, it’s now been a year since my world fell apart.  365 days to get used to the fact that Renee is gone and she’s never coming back. The times when I am either awakened or jarred out of a solitary daze by some guttural, almost inhuman sounds, and then realizing the source of those [...]

Silver Anniversary

This is a much sadder than usual day for me.  Today is my 25th wedding anniversary and my first without my beautiful wife.  My work often took me away from Renee on our anniversary and so we would mark the occasion a week before or after the actual date depending on my schedule.  I have [...]

[...]

Jamie’s Remarks at the Ocean City Event April 19

Renee and I started our life together many years ago in Ocean City so it seems somewhat fitting to say goodbye to her here surrounded by both our families and so many friends. The memories forged on this little island so long ago are still with me and will remain the rest of my life. [...]

Jamie’s Eulogy

Goodbye, My Renee
While most of us have been to funerals and other memorials, thankfully few of us have much experience in the situation we find ourselves today. I don’t see how the circumstances could be much sadder, but I know with all my heart that Renee wants each of us to celebrate her well-lived life, [...]
