April Update……………….part 2

Today, for the umpteenth time, I got to watch one of our kid’s heart break. It is always a gut-wrenching, emotionally draining experience and this one was worse than most. The last couple of weeks for several of the kids it has been obvious that time has not yet begun to heal their wounds. [...]

Ask Jamie………………………….April 2010

How are you doing? It’s been over a year now, are things any easier?
I am one person who won’t have to be reminded how long it’s been.  406 days as I type this. There is never going to be an easy answer to the question “how are you doing?”  No real way for those [...]

March Update

I wrote earlier in the month on the eve of the first anniversary nobody wants to remember but one that no one in my circle of family and friends will ever forget. First I wrote about it then I lived it. Here’s how it went. I had talked to the older children about getting together [...]

The saddest anniversary of all.

Well, it’s now been a year since my world fell apart.  365 days to get used to the fact that Renee is gone and she’s never coming back. The times when I am either awakened or jarred out of a solitary daze by some guttural, almost inhuman sounds, and then realizing the source of those [...]

October Update

Jamie’s family has been mostly without internet for the last month thanks to lots of rain and an old internet receiver.  To let you know how he is doing I am copying here a note that he sent to all of his co-workers before his connection went down.  Jamie should be able to add more [...]

Thank you Bobby, Gary, John & Bobby V!

Many thanks to Bobby Jester, Bobby Vermillion, Gary Feeheley and family, and John Rogers for hosting the Trader Lee’s reunion, Renee Miller Children’s Fund fundraiser. Everything about the event was as close to perfect as I’ve seen. The food was great and a good time was had by all. I saw lots of friends and [...]

Renee’s Slideshow

Renee Slideshow
This slideshow was prepared by Renee’s sister, Suzi Isrealsson of Bethel, Alaska, with some help from Jamie’s sister, Cathie, and her husband, Fred Fagerstrom.   The music includes some of Renee’s favorites and was selected by Joannie.  Variations on this show were played at Renee’s services in Tennessee and the memorial fundraiser in Ocean City.
